A very interesting story about a woman who gave up her career as a concert pianist to raise her children People interested in family therapy might also enjoy this I interviewed the author on a radio show and it was fascinating.

This biography of pianist and child prodigy of Gitta Gradova was written by her son Thomas Cottle, himself a highly respected psychologist He weaves brilliantly his mother s professional and personal life, but leaves unclear his own complicated feelings about their relationship It seemed as if he couldn t unravel his own experience from the star studded swirl of celebrities that populated his childhood This resulted in my feeling the book was somewhat unfinished.
