I had the unusual fortune of getting to write a pre release review of THALO BLUE before it hits an eBookstore near you As such, pretty much anything I say will be a spoiler alert, so I m going to try and be as careful as a brain surgeon here You may proceed THALO BLUE is by far Jason McIntyre s most complex, multi layered, and disturbing work This is no beach book that doubles as a convenient Frisbee, but an intense thinker that requires your full attention Part noir mystery and part art house, [...]

Jason McIntyre s latest novel, THALO BLUE, is absolutely frightening, but in a way that I loved Hauntingly well written and masterfully crafted, THALO BLUE is primary about Sebastion Zeb Redfield, a troubled artist on the cusp of true adulthood The story opens as a circumspect thief breaks into Sebastion s house and attacks him While the attack seems random at first, a deeper, complicated meaning soon surfaces and Sebastion, along with his assigned psychiatrist, must figure out what s driving t [...]

McIntytre s novel Thalo Blue is an example of a heavy beauty stunning and exquisite in places, it transports you into an almost metaphysical world We travel the novel through the eyes of Sebastion it is a painfully beautiful, almost unbearably sensuous world but one which is equally tinged with a latent element of extreme violence With his character, I found myself completely absorbed in the intensity of the expression and moment Sebastion s story is of haunting and recovery and all of the compl [...]

Excerpted from the full review Sebastion Redfield is terrified If you were embroiled in the precarious circumstances that surround him at the novel s inception, you would be, too Ensconced in the quiet lull of a neighbourhood defined by its lack of fanfare, at rest in his parents house in which neither of his parents reside, any longer, for reasons both distinct and conjoined , Sebastion s equanimity is shattered by the intrusion of a stranger who wants to steal something far precious than the [...]

Thalo Blue Jason McInytre Sebastion Redfield is being hunted After a terrifying break in and attack, Sebastion sees a psychiatrist to help him recover from this ordeal But soon they discover this is no random attack And what he is about to uncover is disturbing Going from the past to present, twists and turns I was not sure what was going to happen next I was at the edge of my seat until the very end.An all night nail biting psychological page turning read.Jason McIntyre knows how to get into th [...]

This is an intricately woven tale rich in imagery If I had to classify the genre, I d say it s a psychological thriller with a paranormal twist Yet, the depth of the characters, the emotions they both experience and evoke in the reader, and the issues explored within the plot makes it impossible to limit this story to any specific genre Thalo Blue is not an easy or a fast read The story requires commitment from the reader Skimming over the descriptions would be a loss of something almost tangibl [...]

Thalo Blue is a great novel McIntye manages to convey a horror story using a narration full of textures and poetry that turns out to be an original, fresh and challenging reading in a rich tapestry of flashbacks and interlaced stories all of them brilliantly connected in the end which leads the readers to a gripping climax and an unexpected ending As far as characters are concerned, Zeb is one of the most complex and fascinating characters I have ever read about He s unique and McIntyre manages [...]

I loved this book I loved the story and I loved the complicated layers of people and relationships McIntyre is a storyteller coming into his own, and with Thalo Blue he has proven himself once again My favorite part of this book is that I couldn t figure out the villain I found out the what, how, and why, at the moment McIntyre was ready for me to know That in itself is a reason to read Thalo Blue.

    Berit Ellingsen
Part thriller and part pshychological novel that really probes the psyche and the personal background of the main character and the side characters Has some very tense and interesting moments. At times the varying points of view and the delving into the past felt confusing and reduced the tension that was built, but I see why it was done that way Nonetheless an interesting and intense read.

    Tabitha Turnbow
I had a hard time with this because I scare easily but it was compelling and a page turner.A very emotional novel, one I don t know if I can keep reading but need to because it is so good.
