First things first, I got a free copy of this book from the author via group Zombies , for a fair and honest review. This is the first book of a still being written series titled Red Dust, which is a mix genre blend of America s old west Zombies Apocalypse I found the story compelling I felt that the characters moral challenges gave them emotional depth There is a fair amount of foreshadowing the eyes in the trees that keep the suspense building and my mind busy making the leaps into the what wil [...]

So, you should know that I received a free copy of this work by the authors in exchange for an honest review Not that I would lie, but I do tend towards hyperbole when I m on a roll The Lost Party is a historical western horror short story that s got a lot going on Native American Indians forshadowing doom up ahead , a Donner party feel where you just know someone s gonna take a bite out of someone else, a creepy feel that s exaggerated by the discovery of the lost journal of the poor souls who [...]

Overall this was a good short story I received The Lost Party and Feud for a review or at least some feedback So when I read this a while back a man, George Masterson, was searching for a lost wagon train and slowly finding clues as to what had happened to the lost party Suspenseful, something that will keepyou guessing I d recommend this for someone looking for a short, quick and interesting read.

I can t say I was thrilled with this book, but it did keep my interest Those looking for blood and gore in their zombie apocalypse stories will be disappointed This is suspense and thriller than horror.I haven t decided if I will continue on to the other books.

Having posted in a Review Initiative thread that I was willing to review works, the authors requested my review of two short stories, including this one, The Lost Party I was provided a copy of the work in exchange for my fair and honest review I thank the authors for this opportunity.I rate The Lost Party 3 stars based on 1 My overall enjoyment 2 Creativity Originality which, in large part, accounts for my 3 stars because really who ever heard of cowboy zombie stories and 3 Voice Ease of Readin [...]

As a rule of thumb, I don t read sequels before reading the first book in a series I also avoid Zombie books like the plague To date, I ve read only two series based on Zombies, both Westerns, by the way, that entertained me enough to make me stick around The Red Dust Series by Ben Dixon and Sam Campbell is one of them. The Lost Party, being the first book in the series, compliments the sequel which I read first It takes a subject matter that I wouldn t ordinarily be interested in Zombies and ble [...]

Zombies in cowboy country yee hah The Lost Party is both a short story and the first part of a series, and it works great in both categories As a short story, it stands perfectly on its own It focuses on one self contained storyline, and does not bombard you with unanswered bits and pieces that would necessarily require to go on with the sequel As a first part of the series, however, it provides a great prologue for further instalments, teasing the reader with a glimpse of one background scene w [...]

I was given a free copy of this story in exchange for an honest, non reciprocal review. This is a short story, so it ll also be a short review.I enjoyed this story It left me wondering what was going on until nearly the end The main character is searching for about sixty people who have gone missing He finds a diary, and the entries reveal how they went from a large, enthusiastic party to a small party, barely still moving on.It s not very long and kept things moving well enough to hold my attent [...]

It called to my mind the cannibalism of the Donner Party and the old lore of the wendigo with a zombie twist I received a free copy of Red Dust The Fall of this is the first short story of three because I am a member of Pro Active Destruction and group authors Ben Dixon and Sam Campbell entered and won the Group Author s writing Challenge so members like me got a free copy here if we asked and agreed to participate in theSpecial Group Read discussion.

Quite different from the regular westerns that I have read Still, it was an interesting read I am sure that there may be readers out there who would like a hybrid horror western version, if so, then this book is right up their alley.
