E ARC from Edelweiss Above the TreelineDashiell has had it with Patton and Lily, the children of the space tourists, but after he gets in an altercation with Patton that involves using the space toilet to defend himself, Dashiell is reprimanded by the base commander, Nina When Nina goes missing it s a huge mystery How far can she have gone on the space station Everyone starts to investigate, and Kira and Dashiell find moon rocks in Nina s room, fueling the idea that she was going to try to sell [...]

Another mystery is afoot at Moon Base Alpha, the first human habitation on the moon MBA s commander, strict and militaristic Nina, has suddenly gone missing Twelve year old Dashiell solved the base s last mystery, but this one is trickier than ever Nina doesn t seem to be anywhere in MBA, but her spacesuit is still here, so she couldn t have gone out on the surface, right Could she have been kidnapped Is she even still alive With the help of his friends including one rather unusual friend who ha [...]

All Stuart gibbs books r awesome

I liked the mystery, but there was toilet talk in this book than the first and about evil humans destroying the world tossed in at the end.

We listened to the audiobook version and my kids are in love with this series and can not wait for the next book to come out It was a fun read that made a six hour car trip fly by

Spaced Out by Stuart Gibbs starts off with someone missing on a moonbase, seeing as the moonbase is so small it s usually very hard to lose someone inside the base While searching for this person they find out that this person has been harboring illegal moon rocks and selling them on earth Throughout the book, they tried to find her They finally find her under the moon base When they question her about the rocks they are shocked to find they were being sold to support her sick mom, that doesn t [...]

While humorous, this book lacks the snappy pace of its predecessor, and a missing persons case simply doesn t have the gravity no pun intended of a murder investigation especially when the missing person is one of the least interesting characters in the book The plot dragged, and this is one of those mysteries where readers won t have a prayer of figuring out what s going on until they re told Rereading my review of Space Case, I wasn t impressed by the mystery aspect of that book, either It s c [...]

This second book in the Moon Base Alpha series has as much mystery and humor as the first Nina, the super strict, rule following Base Commander has gone missing, and once again it is twelve year old Dash who must piece together the clues to find her The snarky narrative is a joy to read, and the Romeo Juliet virtual reality game is hilarious by itself Highly recommended to grades 4 up, but read Space Case first.eARC provided by publisher via Edelweiss.

When I started to read this book there was a real mystery but that just went away 2 pages later because it was so obvious, very anticlimactic After this it basically lost me but I was so far in I couldn t quit I really feel that there was a lot of stalling in the book instead of trying to solve the mystery, I wouldn t recommend this book.

This book is Spaced Out, by Stuart Gibbs This book really does a great job getting the message across that thinking outside the box can be very rewarding This is important because it can help you in life if you have a problem, and you think outside the box, then the answer will present itself if you.Spaced out is a mystery where Dashiell, his family and a few others have gone to live on the moon Dash likes it on the moon, but really wants to be back home in Hawaii, with his friend Riley But in t [...]

I enjoyed this book, though not quite as much as the first one I suppose it might be hard to have that many mysteries aboard a moon base, and Gibbs did a good job of pulling another mystery out of wherever he pulls mysteries out of Not sure how many mysteries he ll be able to think of in such a limited area, but I ll keep reading them as long as he keeps writing them with such wit and charm.I think part of why I enjoyed this one less than the other is because I feel like there are some very sub [...]

How would you feel if somebody went missing Well ask anybody on Moon Base Alpha Personally I liked this book, not sure what other people think about it, but I thought it was a really good book Two of my favorite quotes from this book are Meteorites which is said by the main character Another quote is it d be like finding a needle in a haystack out there a delightful and brilliantly constructed middle grade thriller New York Times Book Review Although this would be a book for either gender, I d r [...]

Although not as good as Space Case, this is a worthy sequel to the MBA series In the book, Nina goes missing after Dash has a discussion with her and he attempts to find her One of the things that drag this book down a little bit is the reused plot elements Seriously, some of the parts feel reused, and Dash Gibbs even acknowledges this Just like when However, this mystery still is still fun, the characters are good, if less believable And I enjoyed this book a lot However, something that ticked [...]

What s not to like about a well written sci fi mystery on the moon While this is technically the 2nd book in a series, I had no trouble jumping right into this story without having read the first I particularly liked the scientific realism regarding life on the base and conditions on the moon, but also appreciated the whimsical elements, such as the main character s communication with his alien friend This would be a great read for a kid who has an interest in space and really, what kid doesn t [...]

This the second book in the Moon Base Alpha series where Dashiell Gibson is one of the first familis to colonize someplace other than earth He has a friend that is an alien Zan Perfonie from the planet Bosco.Everyone on the moon tries to help find the missing base commander The book had some funny moments, but was concerned a out educating the reader about things that an astronaut would use in every day living.

I would recommend Spaced Out by Stuart Gibbs, to fourth seventh grade, because Stuart Gibbs made you want to keep reading the book because he makes you keep reading what happened to Dashiell Also you almost felt connected to Dashiell and you don t want anything bad to happen to him Stuart Gibbs made this book a MUST read by building up suspense to keep the reader on its toes on what s going to happen next. This is why I strongly believe that you should read his book because of these reasons.

A sci fi mystery about a 12 year old detective living on the moon in the year 2040 Four months after Dashiell Gibson had last solved his first case on the moon, there is yet another mystery to be solved When Moon Base Alpha s commander vanishes, it s Dash s job to work together with his fellow Moonies to solve this mind boggling mystery Although it is a bit of an easy read, it s a suspenseful and humorous and it ll have you trying to solve the mystery yourself.

This one was better developed than the first, and the story line had a better flow I m still not sold on the ages of the kids and what they do, but it was an improvement My one issue with this one when talking about planet Earth, the word should be capitalized Instead, it seems as if the characters are continually talking about earth, the dirt Not a huge thing, but it is enough to make me feel a little removed from the story.

This book was just as good as the first book When I started reading this I didn t remember a lot of what happened in the first book because I read it a while ago This book is again a mystery and most of the time you don t know where the story is going The end of the book leaves you on a cliff hanger, but a minor one.

These Moon Base Alpha books are so much fun Great mystery and a well paced story with lots of action as well as the usual middle grade problems with bullies I especially love all the details about living in space in the excerpts from The Official Residents Guide to Moon Base Alpha included with each chapter.

Dit was een fijn boek Voor kinderen en jongeren die ge nteresseerd zijn in ruimtereizen, astronauten en het leven op de maan is dit fantastisch Door de spanning en mysterie blijft het verhaal ook telkens boeiend en meeslepend.

This book was a great sequel to the first moon base alpha book, in this book they discover that the moon base commander is missing and they start to go look for her, even though they look every where possible that she can go they don t look in a long forgotten spot.

I LOVED this book The end was my absolute favorite Zan is still my favorite You should totally read this book There are so many mysteries in one book Isn t that amazing I think it is Like I said you should totally read this book.

this book was a page turner i could not put it down, but i am still deciding if it is in my challenge zone i reccomend this book to anyone who loves to read mysteries it is also kind of cool to see what predictions humans have made for the future.

second book in the series I loved how funny it was but informative too I learned a lot about the moon and outer space And it was a mystery with a very good hint early on that you of course say, oh of course when it all plays out right at the end Loved it

    Rachel Abarca-Contreras
I read the first of this series with my students in a guided reading group in May I HAD to see what happened next This story was exciting But the ending was a little too liberal agenda y for me and didn t leave a cliff hanger interesting enough for me to seek out 3.
