    A tale of Southeast Asia in the 1910s Acceptance of nuances of the era is requisite While Wells job title may not excite his travels in Malay do The majority of the book is about surveyor in uncharted territories you will learn a lot about the variance states, fauna peoples Periodically there s a sidetrack about his wife which comes out of the blue.

    This old school british fellow writes in such an entertaining fashion that I really enjoyed the book an intersting topic to read about back then especially I must say it gets kind of hard for an animal lover at points

    One of the oddest books I ve read but highly entertaining.
