2.5 stars This book is good for beginners at sustainability, or people interested in making their kitchens eco friendly I like how it covers things like cookware and using leftovers If you re already into the sustainability movement, this book will probably not cover any new ground for you.

The author lived in a monastery for a period time, with a no waste kitchen, excellent garden, and a high degree of mindfulness While I m not a master of preparing one meal a week to eat in silence, she had some good points about no waste kitchens and eating well.

I enjoyed an almost 2 hour workshop talk by the author at the Ecology Center The book offers in a sense mindfulness training in all areas of our lives around growing food, shopping, cooking, and eating.

No great new insights, but a valuable book for those who know nothing about minimizing waste, carbon footprint and eating healthfully I donated my copy to the library.
