ADOPTING AN AYSHAZEN KITTEN - HOW IT WORKS
As an exhibitor/breeder, I keep the very best kittens that I breed, to show and to continue the line. This is my hobby/lifestyle. I therefore occasionally have kittens available, which in most cases are excellent examples of the breed, but sadly I cannot keep them all! Some of these kittens are of show quality, and some are not suitable for showing. All make wonderful pets, and the adoption fee is the same.
Occasionally I make these kittens available for adoption to approved permanent
loving pet homes. I insist on meeting prospective kitty slaves, and will not book a kitten until you have visited, and we both approve of each other. In all cases my kittens are seen in my home with their mother, and in the cases of kittens sired by my own stud, the sire can also be seen. A deposit will then secure a booking. The remainder of the adoption fee is paid on collection of your kitten when it is ready to leave at 13 weeks (14 if neutered).
The kittens are GCCF registered (occasionally registered with TICA), neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed,
litter trained and insured for 4 weeks with Petplan. All kittens are checked by
our vet on 2 occasions prior to leaving us, and they are always confident and friendly.
I keep in touch with most of my "kitty slaves",
and I am always chuffed to bits when a new photo/update comes through!
I breed my cats first and foremost for love, and for the betterment of the breed, which
in addition to making wonderful pets, are often seen on the show
bench.
If you would like to adopt one of my kittens, either as a pet, or to show as a neuter (trust me - they love it, and it's a great day out!), then please contact me.
If you wish to breed a female, please be up front with me. All of my kittens sold as pets will be neutered before leaving me. I am happy to help new breeders, on the proviso that they will breed responsibly, according to the GCCF Code of Ethics, and that they will accept my help and advice as a mentor for at least the first litter. The adoption fee remains the same as for neuters. Please note: I dont make money from breeding, and neither will you, on the contrary, its an expensive hobby. Please bear this in mind and download my considering breeding article.
Although not averse to the concept, it is very rare that I allow a male on the active register. A stud owner must be very experienced, not just with breeding experience, but knowledge of genetics, and lineage, how to work out inbreeding co-efficients, and ensure that the stud has enough work to keep him happy. Keeping a stud is expensive, he must live in his own large quarters, which must be built to a high standard, with insulation, heating and a good sized exercise run. The stud owner must spare at least an hour a day to tend their boy and to give him love, companionship and enrichment. This is not a suitable venture for a novice breeder. Before allowing a male to go as a stud, I would have to be completely satisfied that any breeder would be able to satisly the above criteria. Terms
of Adoption
I
have a written agreement, signed by both parties, upon adoption
of one of my kittens, a sample of which can be viewed on request.
I use the term "adoption" as I do not regard my
kittens as "goods for sale", they are living furbabies,
and deserve respect as such. The fee charged is an adoption
fee, which helps to cover upbringing, feeding, vaccination,
vet bills, housing, maintenance and much more, of the kittens,
and their parents. Contrary to popular belief, there is no profit
in what I do (see article in the Downloads section "CONSIDERING
BREEDING?)
