MEET KHAO MANEES AT GCCF FOREIGN BREED SEMINAR SEPT 2010
The Foreign BACs and Selkirk Rex BAC Seminar, presented by the Guild of GCCF Judges and Stewards, is to be held, 19th September 2010 at The Greig Centre, Kinwarton Road, Alcester, Warwickshire B49 6AD.
There will be over 55 cats present representing 14 breeds.
For the first time the Khao Manee will be attending. Presenting the cats will be Tina Turner and Jen Lacey. There will be other members of the KMCC on hand to answer questions.

The AGM of the Khao Manee Cat Club will be held on Sunday 11 July at 2pm, at the Oliver Bird Hall, Solihull. Light refreshments will be served from 1pm. All welcome.
Please note, only fully paid up members can vote, so please ensure that your subscription for 2010 has been paid.
We will have some Khao Manee cats and kittens on exhibition and the there will also be a talk on the origin and history of the breed.

The first Khao Manee kittens in the UK were born on Thursday 25 March 2010. The first litter was born to Tina Turner's girl Odyssey Dootsadee of Kinabalu, sire is Chrissy Russell's stud KaTee of Ayshazen. 1 male and 1 female. Many congratulations to Tina on the birth of this historic litter!

UC DAVIS/KMCC - DEAFNESS IN WHITE CATS GENETIC RESEARCH
We Need Your Swabs!
Working with Professor Leslie Lyons of UC Davis in California, the Khao Manee Cat Club is coordinating an appeal for cheek swabs from at least 50 hearing and 50 deaf white cats of all breeds. Professor Lyons will research the possibilty of finding the gene responsible for causing deafness in white cats, which is more prevalent than in coloured cats.
We ask all owners of white cats to send us a cheek swab, the process is incredibly simple.

The first Khao Manee to enter the UK, Odyssey ChaWee of Ayshazen, made her debut exhibition at the Kensington Kitten & Neuter show on 25 July at Bracknell Leisure Centre, Bagshott Road, Bracknell. Please see the press release by clicking here.

A presentation is being made at the TICA Spring 2009 Board meeting on 17 May, for advancement of the Khao Manee from Experimental New Breed to Registration Only New Breed. The presentation will be made by Janet Poulsen of Odyssey. The Agenda can be viewed here, look from page 84.
